NotePane is designed as a "local-first" application. We believe your notes belong to you and should remain on your devices.

1. Information Collection

Personal DataWe do not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information (PII). No account creation is required.
Note DataAll notes you create are stored locally on your device using macOS's SwiftData. We do not have access to your content.
Usage DataWe do not collect analytics, crash reports, or usage statistics.

2. Data Storage

All data created within NotePane remains on your local machine. If you use system-wide features like Time Machine, your data is handled by Apple under their respective privacy policies.
